Fundraising in schools

Fundraising at school is simple. We would love you to get involved, and have lots of ideas to help you support Scotland’s mental health.

SAMH needs your help now more than ever. Help us support the mental health of people who need us the most.

Could you help to raise vital funds for Scotland’s mental health? Do you want to have fun while making a difference to Scotland’s mental health?

There are lots of ways that your school can get involved and our fundraising team would love to support you along the way.

Fundraising at school

If you are looking to raise awareness of mental health in your school and would also like to fundraise you might want to organise something around some key dates. It might be a wellbeing day, a dress down day, or even a fundraising week.

  • Children’s Mental Health Week is in February each year
  • Mental Health Awareness Week is in May each year
  • World Mental Health Day is the 10th October each year

Could your school organise their own Stomp event? You can now take part in our iconic stair-climbing challenge virtually anywhere. We are looking for schools to step up to the challenge. It could be teachers vs pupils, competition amongst your houses, or, one year group vs another. If you would like to get involved get in touch with us on stomp@samh.org.uk

Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI)

If your school takes part in the YPI programme we would love to tell your pupils more about the work of SAMH in their local community. We would be happy to organise a phone call or meeting with pupils to help them learn more about looking after their own mental health and the work we do in your area.

Whatever you decide to do, we’d love to be part of your team. Get in touch at fundraising@samh.org.uk.
