MSP Richard Lochhead visits
24th October 2016
Richard Lochhead, MSP for Moray, visited local SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) services this week.
The long established services support adults in their recovery from mental health problems.
Richard met some of his constituents who use the service as well as staff and was able to see first-hand the impact of the service. Also joining him at the visit was Chris Creegan, Chair of SAMH's Trustee Board.
SAMH in Moray has evolved over the years to meet the needs of the community. Established in 1991, the specialist mental health service provides supported accommodation, care at home and housing support, as well as running drop in services in more rural parts of Moray.
Sarah Blackmore, Director for Delivery and Development said:
"We were really delighted to welcome Richard Lochhead MSP to our services in Moray."
"The awareness of mental health in Moray has changed over the years, and the community are now very familiar with SAMH, which I believe is a huge improvement from our early days.
