Event FAQ
How many people can I enter into a team?
You can enter a minimum of 4 team members and a maximum of 6 team members. No exceptions will be permitted, as the tournament follows official sport regulations set out by British Dodgeball.
If you would like to enter more than 6 people for the event, we’d encourage you to try and bring together enough people for two teams (e.g. two teams of four).
What's the entry fee for the Aberdeen Dodgeball Showdoon?
We ask for a non-refundable entry fee of £20 per team member to secure your place at the Aberdeen Dodgeball Showdoon. We're also asking each player to get involved in fundraising for Scotland's mental health by setting a £50 minimum fundraising pledge.
Can I enter a mixed gender team?
Absolutely! There is no requirement to enter a single-sex team and we would encourage mixed-gender teams. As long as your team has a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 people, it is entirely up to you who you bring in to your team.
What's the minimum age to sign-up?
Team members need to be 18 at the time of the event, due to health & safety and insurance purposes.
How much does it cost to register a team?
We ask for a non-refundable registration fee of £20 per team member being entered into the event. We would ask you to fully confirm that each member of your team is available for the date of the event, to prevent any teams withdrawing at short notice and impacting the timetable of matches throughout the day.
Can my friends, family, children, colleagues and pets come to watch?
The more the merrier! We would encourage anybody who might like to come and support your team to attend. There will be food and drink stalls on the day, as well as a huge variety of family friendly entertainment such as bouncy castles, face painters, inflatable challenges and more!
Where is the event taking place?
The Aberdeen Dodgeball Showdoon is being held at Balgownie Playing Fields in Aberdeen, on the outskirts of Bridge of Don. The site provides extensive, unisex and single-sex changing facilities, toilets and an indoor pavilion which can be used for shelter and watching the tournament in the case of poor weather conditions.
Will there be free parking available at the site?
There a dedicated car park at Balgownie Playing Fields which is free of charge. In the event that the car park becomes full, visitors will be redirected to alternative parking facilities also on the grounds, such as the Innovation Park (also free of charge).
